Always looking for new spots to watch and photograph trains, my trail today led to the South Niagara Rowing Club grounds, adjacent to the CP Hamilton Subdivision, just east of CP Welland yard. I had my fingers crossed for about an hour, watching the thick dark clouds creeping ever closer. But I totally lucked out, the sun lighting up CP 247 as the train rolled under the Canal Bank Road overpass. |

Westbound CP fueighter approaching the Telland Canal tunnel. That dull brown mist about the train and surroundings is airborne Quebeb forest fire ash and dust blown south over all of Ontario and NE USA. It will pretty well wreck all my pics over the next month or so. You wouldn't know it that it's actually a bright sunny day. |
